MONEY MACHINES - A wandering Sleep Installation and Performance (September 2022)

Mayer Pavilion and I invited artist guests to witness a performance by Katja Tannert and Martin Wagner in the attempt of washing the creative act and money from its uncertain past (and future).

“Money Machines” was the opening event of "Art in Residence", an experimental art project by Susan Buckow exploring the relations between creatives, money and gentrification.

Art in Residence is genorously funded by the "Innovative Art Projects" Program by BBK Bundesverband Bildender Künstler.

KOMISCHE GEGENWART. SONDIERUNGEN AUS DER ZUKUNFT

Master Thesis & Installation

Strange Presence. Probings from the Future is considering hypothetical utopian realities in other times and/or places. A story is created about a visitor from an abstract time. The visitor remains hidden, but he leaves traces of his findings, image-artifacts from our current time, that have been looked at and possibly transformed by a glimpse of eyes originating in the future. The laser cut images are abstractions of contemporary persons such as Angela Merkel, representing memory slices stored away from someone looking at our current time from a future perspective.

Big thanks to Andrea from Mayer Pavilion, Katja & Martin for trusting me and performing in such amazing ways although still recovering from their colds, Cristo for connecting me to Andrea, Birgit for capturing the joyful atmosphere on camera, Kaaren for being our brave and spontaneous overnight guest, Francesco for helping me cut the stars and all the wonderful guests and friends who helped create such a joyful atmosphere around a sometimes tricky topic.
